ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
College of Entertainment and Music Business students who are enrolled for a minimum of 12 hours per semester.
Applicants will have completed two of the following courses by the end of the academic year in which the application is submitted:
• MBU 1110 Survey of Music Business
• AET 1380 Survey of Recording Technology
• MBU 2130 History of the Recording Business
Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Transfer students must complete a semester of academic work at Belmont University as well as have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 from previous university work.
DEADLINE:
November 1. Return completed applications to the College of Entertainment and Music Business Dean’s Office in the Curb Event Center.
Late applications will not be considered.
NOTIFICATION:
• All applicants will be notified of their award status by mail on or before April 1.
• Scholarship recipients must return the Award Acceptance form enclosed with their notification to the CEMB Dean’s Office along with a copy of their completed thank you note to the appropriate benefactor.
SPECIAL AWARDS:
• Should additional scholarship opportunities arise during an academic year, applications on file for the departmental scholarship process will be considered and evaluated based on criteria set by the donating party.
• If the recipient of a departmental scholarship is also chosen for a special award, s/he must choose which award to accept, as awards are not cumulative. Generally, the more financially rewarding scholarship for a given student will be awarded.
Freshmen should apply even though they have not completed all of the course requirements. They will be added to the pool of candidates once all criteria for consideration are met.
